Logistics Challenges in the Global Economy: An Academic Perspective

 Abstract：Key Logistics Challenges：Reduce costs; Improve customer service; Meet environmental and other regulatory requirements; Effectively manage contractors and employees; Implement new technology; Main logistics challenges have remained pretty much the same over the past 50 years. They never get “solved”. The challenge, however, is to meet these challenges in an ever more complex and competitive environment. Academic research that has addressed some of these logistics challenges along with lessons to be learned from this research.

 个人简历――Martin Dresner(马丁.德雷内)

  Martin Dresner教授于1988年起在马里兰大学史密斯商学院工作，现任物流、商业和公共政策系的系主任。他于英属哥伦比亚大学尚德商学院获得政策分析的博士学位。Dresner教授的研究主要集中于航空物流政策和物流管理两个领域。他已经在重要学术期刊上发表了超过75篇论文。Dresner教授是美国航空运输研究协会的会长。该协会致力于航空领域的研究。同时，他还是世界交通研究大会的科学与指导委员会会员。Dresner教授现任运输经济学研究的主编，之前担任过运输杂志的主编。他还担任了其它一些关于运输、物流和供应链期刊的编委工作。Dresner曾任盟军社会科学协会和运输研究论坛下的运输和公共事业集团的主席。他还参加了美国众议院航空委员会，并且致力于一些机构的咨询项目，例如马里兰航空管理局，联邦航空管理局和美国能源局。
